A Step By Step Guide for Purpose-Driven Women
Closing out the year with purpose and intention can set the tone for a successful and fulfilling new year. In today’s blog post, I am sharing a practice and framework that I have been following for years. You may find elements of this framework reminiscent of actions you may take at the end of the year. One thing for sure is if we are intentional about how we close one chapter we set ourselves up for success in the next chapter.
One thing I’ve realized more is how dynamic life is. Life is characterized by constant change, variability, and fluidity. As busy moms, our experiences in life are not static but ever-evolving. Once you layer in purpose projects, businesses, and growing careers, it’s easy to see how dynamic life really is. Year-end provides a unique opportunity for us to make the changing of the seasons if you will. It gives us an anchoring point to pivot from one season to the next.
Closing the Year with Purpose and Intention
Closing one chapter before starting a new one contributes to our well-being, personal growth, and a positive approach to the future. A sense of closure and purpose contributes to overall well-being. It can reduce stress, increase self-confidence, and foster a positive outlook on life. Typically, I end the year with a fast. I also attend church for New Year’s Eve Service. This helps me to reflect and refocus.
Finding a mix of activities to close one chapter before moving to the next is important.

Closing out the year with purpose and intention can set the tone for a successful and fulfilling new year. Here is your step-by-step guide to help you do just that:
Reflect on your accomplishments: Acknowledging your successes creates confidence and can be a powerful motivator for the days ahead. Big or small acknowledge them all!
Learn from setbacks and challenges: We all have areas of improvement. As long as we are living, I believe that there is always room for growth. Take note of your challenges and start making decisions about what you will do to overcome them.
Declutter and organize: Is it just me or do you think more clearly when you have a clutter free physical and digital space? Decluttering has a positive impact on your mental well-being and creates a fresh start for the new year.
Review Goals: Review personal, professional, business, and financial goals. It is important to review the goals you set at the start of the year. Personally, I am not a fan of New Year’s Resolutions, instead, I prefer to set goals and petitions. At the end of the year, it’s important to review goals so you can reflect and refocus.
CELEBRATE ALL THINGS: This is so important! Acknowledge and celebrate all of your accomplishments, no matter how small. Celebrate all things including the small things! Reflecting on your successes boosts your confidence and motivation, providing positive energy for the year ahead.
Start Planning for the Year Ahead: Start planning for the year ahead. This can be high-level. It’s important to not overshadow the above activities by being too hast to move on to the next.
To wrap it up, by incorporating these tips into your year-end routine, you’ll not only close the year with purpose and intention but also lay a solid foundation for a successful and fulfilling new year.
