DIY Grab-and-Go breakfast ideas from on-the-go moms
Some mornings, I find myself eating breakfast in my home office. It’s certainly not the most ideal but it is my reality some mornings. When I’m not eating in my office, I’m typically grabbing something quick so I can get my girls settled into virtual school and help to get my son off to daycare. In today’s post, I am sharing my favorite grab-and-go breakfast meals.
I came across this article on WebMD, and it emphasizes the importance of eating breakfast.
Breakfast Benefits: Energy, Weight Control, and More (webmd.com). It makes me think about the parent letters and calls my children’s schools send out before testing days. It always encourages parents to ensure children have a good night’s sleep and that they eat a healthy breakfast.
Breakfast provides us with the energy we need to navigate throughout our busy days. As an on-the-go mom, I need all of the energy I can get.
The WebMD article states, “Many people skip the a.m. meal because they’re rushing to get out the door. That’s a mistake. You need food in your system long before lunchtime. If you don’t eat first thing, you may get so hungry later on that you snack on high-fat, high-sugar foods.”
I encourage you to not skip out on breakfast. If you need some quick, easy, and delicious grab-and-go ideas, here are my favorites.
My Busy Mom Breakfast Favorites
Avocado Toast on Sprouted Grain Bread – So simple, yet healthy and delicious.

Boiled Eggs – Can be premade and enjoyed on the go. I sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Yogurt – My favorite brand is LaFermiere in Orange Blossom Honey.

Trail Mix – My children typically have a variety of ingredients on hand.
Fruit and Air Fryer Plantains – Plantains are my absolute favorite and I could eat them at any time of the day.
Oatmeal with assorted toppings – This meal keeps me full and satisfied all morning long.

Breakfast Bowls with assorted leftovers – I drizzle my favorite dressing over the bowl for a unique and delicious flavor twist.
To Wrap it Up
Let me know your favorite grab-and-go breakfast item in the comments. I love the versatility of my favorites. In my opinion, breakfast does not have to be boring. It can be filling and enjoyable even as a mom who is short on time.
