Level Up Your Work Wardrobe
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is my most expectant shopping event of the year. I first learned about the sale by watching some YouTube videos maybe nine years ago. I didn’t shop much at Nordstrom because I felt it was beyond my price point for clothing. And in all transparency, it probably was at the time. I have come to love the quality, the brands, and the amazing deals over the years. It has served as a great way to level up and refreshes my work wardrobe time and time again.
I am not a seasoned pro when it comes to shopping sales. I know some fashion bloggers and fashion lovers wake up early in the morning to shop for the hottest trends and best deals. I prefer shopping in-store during Early Access. Let’s talk logistics and what you need to know to prepare.
How the Sale Works
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dates back to some time in the early 1960s according to some sources (How Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale Became a Retail Phenomenon – Footwear News). Each year it is the premier sales and shopping event for the brand. As far as I have followed the sale, it has always been from July to some time in August.
Navigating the Nordstrom website to find sale details can be a bit tricky. I typically use the search bar to find the page and any details I am looking for. You also have to be signed in to your Nordstrom account to view the content until the sale begins.
The sale opens to card members first, based on their status, and to the general public last.

This year everyone has the ability to preview the sale starting on June 29th. Mark your calendars and add this event to your planner. At this time shoppers will be able to log in online and view the Digital Catalog and preview the site.
I feel as though the sale is set up to reward Nordstrom’s most faithful customers. Many of the items sell out before the sale opens up to everyone. I have experienced this first hand with MANY items that were on my wishlist.
To me, you can find some great deals on amazing brands. Hence, why many of the hottest trends sell out at the rate in which they do. I will never forget a really cute and comfortable looking pair of Tory Burch boots that I wanted as my number one sales pick sold out by the time Influencers gained access to the sale.
The key is to not be disappointed and to check back often to see if by chance the item restocks.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sales Perks
Another benefit is double and sometimes triple points which adds up to Nordstrom Notes. Nordstrom notes can be redeemed on subsequent purchases and a great way to increase the saving opportunities during the sale.
