Growing your circle through networking and meetups
As I write this blog post, I am in awe. I am in awe of the support and most excited about the new connections that were made this evening. “Your Network is Your Net Worth” is a quote that I believe to be true. I will share more on this topic in a later blog post. But today, I am going to quickly recap the inaugural Boss Lady Networking Meetup that I co-hosted with Danielle Boyd of Daily Becoming.
I hosted my first Meetup in November 2019 in Northern Virginia. The Career Mom Community Meetup was an intimate gathering of like-minded women who are navigating their various journeys and juggling a number of competing priorities. It was a great time of connections and networking.
Fast forward to this year, and I had the idea of hosting another event with the same mission of bringing together like-minded women in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area. Little did I know I had mompreneur friend thinking the same thing. I honestly don’t recall how it landed in conversation but we decided to move by faith and create an event.
After some planning and various iterations of ideas, we opened the Boss Lady Networking Meetup. The interesting thing about hosting events is you never know how they will be received, which leads to much anticipation sprinkled with a dose of nervousness.
The Power of Connecting with Like-Minded Women
Connections are important in life. Whether someone is looking to advance in a career, business, ministry, or another endeavor, connections are essential for the journey. The Boss Lady Networking Event was the result of a purposeful connection.
The Main Event
The Boss Lady Networking Event was held on June 16, 2022. The event featured a professional photographer, delicious complementary food, giveaways from the Career Mom Community Shop and Daily Becoming Accessories, swag bags, and great conversations.
Follow the Career Mom Community Facebook Page to view the professional photographs when they become available.
