Disney World Sit Down Dining

Sit-down dining is not only an enjoyable experience for adults and kids alike but it also breaks up the day in the parks.

Planning a Disney sit-down is a must during your vacation

We were able to experience sit-down restaurants in the park and on property. Our on-property dining reservations included Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Boma – Flavors of Africa, located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. In the parks, we enjoyed Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios. They were all unique and enjoyable experiences in their own right. Based on our experience, I’d suggest that families plan at least one sit-down dining experience during their Walt Disney World vacation.

Why sit down dining?

Sit-down dining is not only an enjoyable experience for adults and kids alike but it also breaks up the day in the parks. They provide relief from the heat during hot summer days and a break from thrills and lines.

The cast members who work in the restaurants also work to create memorable and magical experiences for park guests. The theme is uniquely curated and there are “Easter eggs” throughout the restaurant.

In the parks sit down dining

In the parks, we enjoyed:

  • Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom and
  • Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios

Favorites from Skipper Canteen included the Brazilian Cheese Bread and the Veranda Fried Rice.

Everything from Hollywood & Vine was a hit. I bragged about this character dining experience in this blog post, Hollywood Studios Afternoon Activities – Career Mom Community.

On Property, Disney Resort, Dining

The various Disney World Resort properties have sit-down dining as well. During our break days from Disney parks, I planned dining experiences at two of the reports I was attracted to. For budget reasons we opted to not stay at a Disney World Resort but decided to venture there to enjoy the ambiance and food, and to take in the culture represented.

Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Boma – Flavors of Africa, located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge were both equally amazing.
