Career Moms are ambitious women who are dedicated to their roles as mothers and also seek meaningful and successful careers. Career moms are go-getters who wear many hats. We are women who rely on strategy, proper planning and grace.
As mothers, it’s easy for us to put our dreams and goals on the back burner because we want to ensure everyone else is taken care of. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes sacrifices are necessary. But, career moms seek balance. Our aim is to fulfill our purpose, fulfill our calling, and chase our dreams with the kiddos in tow (and whoever else we are responsible for/accountable to).
Having a career requires intentional effort. Webster’s definition of a career is a field or pursuit of consecutive progressive achievement, especially in public, professional, or business life. A career is something you pursue not just something you do. Skill development and a track record of growth are two indicators of a career mindset as opposed to a work mindset.
“Your Career is a journey”
– Coach D, founder of Career Mom Community
Your industry of work does not define “career”. Career Moms work in a variety of fields such as finance, healthcare, child care, education, science, the arts, government, private business, private practice, etc. Remember the common thread for a career is the desire for progressive achievement and success.
Every career mom has a different paradigm of what success looks like but the common thread is the desire to balance, grow and succeed in every role!
