I encourage you not to shy away from the concept of productivity. The intent is not to add extra stress to your already busy mom life. The intent is to accomplish goals and to move the needle on important tasks and projects.

Do you struggle with productivity?

I will admit that being productive is challenging at times, especially for busy working moms.

Today, I’m sharing five simple tasks that you can incorporate into your day that will aid in your productivity. By cultivating the habits below daily, you will notice yourself accomplishing more throughout your day.

I encourage you not to shy away from the concept of productivity. The intent is not to add extra stress to your already busy mom life.  The intent is to accomplish goals and to move the needle on important tasks and projects.  Focus on what is important in your current season and your list of “must do” priorities.

As you are reading the tips below, please remember that these are habit forming activities and it takes time to create new habits.  As you are implementing these newfound activities remember to show yourself grace and don’t expect overnight miracles.  Especially if this is not currently a consistent part of your lifestyle.

1) Spend 5- minutes at the end of each day organizing your workspace

When your workspace is disorganized, it’s difficult to be productive.  You can easily become frazzled when trying to locate necessities such as office supplies and the likes. This added layer of stress will stifle productivity and the ability to think clearly.

Take 5- minutes and tidy up!

2) Spend at least 5- minutes ensuring reminders/alarms are set in your phone everyday

This is a big one for me! Although I love paper planners (check out my planner videos HERE), I rely heavily on my cell phone reminders to alert me to when I need to task switch.

Can you relate?  Leave a comment and let me know.

3) Spend at least 5-minutes practicing deep breathing

Incorporate breathing exercises into your day. Between meetings or task set an alarm for 5 minutes and dedicate that time to uninterrupted breathing.

I’ve started to incorporate this practice into my day, and I am already noticing drastic changes in my stress level and productivity.  Setting aside time to breathe helps me to improve my energy levels and enables me to get more done.

4) Spend at least 5- minutes creating your “to- do” list at the start of the day

At the start of your day, set aside time to capture your “to- do’s”.  I rotate between my “Keep Notes” in my phone and a traditional note sheet depending on how I feel.

During these five minutes write down or key in all task that come to mind.  Don’t worry so much about prioritizing or what should be captured.  If you think of it write it down!

Once all of your daily activities are captured, then you can focus on prioritizing or reallocating task to future dates.

5) Spend at least 5- minutes reflecting on your day at the end of each day

At the end of the day, when you are unwinding for bed, set aside 5-minutes for reflecting. This will aid in productivity because it will give your mind an opportunity to celebrate your wins, which serve as motivation for you to keep going.  It will also allow you to reflect on things that you need to carry over into the coming day(s).

Give this practice a try, I’m sure you will see true benefits!
