Practical planning tips for the on-the-go mom
Weekly planning is a powerful tool for busy moms juggling various commitments. Planning helps busy moms manage time effectively, reduce stress, and create a sense of balance and fulfillment. Weekly planning is particularly crucial for working moms due to the multiple roles and responsibilities they juggle. In today’s post, I am sharing my top reasons why weekly planning is important and practical planning tips for the on-the-go mom.
Why Weekly Planning is Important
Have you ever had a week, work weeks even, where you’ve felt like you were “flying by the seat of your pants”? Have you ever been so exhausted that you couldn’t think straight and you were dropping the ball? Yeah, me too! I’ve found that this phenomenon most often occurs during weeks were I skip planning.
Needless to say, planning helped me to navigate life more thoughtfully and strategically.
Importance of planning

Time Management
The biggest benefit of planning for busy moms is time management. As working moms, we often have a limited amount of time to balance work, family, and personal commitments. Weekly planning helps allocate time efficiently and ensures that important tasks are prioritized.
Motivation
Having a weekly plan doesn’t mean rigidity; instead, it allows working moms to be more flexible and adaptable. I’ve found that planning also helps with motivation. For example, as you witness progress and experience the positive outcomes of your efforts, your motivation naturally strengthens, driving you to pursue your goals with enthusiasm.
Practical Planning Tips
A great place to start is by creating a weekly schedule outlining key tasks and activities. From there, prioritize essential activities, and allocate time appropriately. My priority is my family so I make sure I dedicate uninterrupted time for family. Work, business, ministry, and passion projects are also important to multifaceted women. A practical tip for multifaceted women is to utilize tools like apps or planners to stay organized and set realistic goals for each area of their lives.
Lastly, delegate tasks when possible, and be flexible with your plan to accommodate unexpected events. Remember to include moments for relaxation and self-care to maintain balance.
