There is nothing better than cozying up in front of the fireplace with a good book and a warm delicious cup of apple cider. Throw in an apple pastry to create the ultimate self-care and me time, moment!

Sharing my fall book line up and must read list

Can you tell by now that I love Fall? It truly is my favorite season.  In my last post, I shared Five Fall Meal Planning Tips for Busy Families.   In today’s post, I am going to share my fall book list and book recommendations. There’s something special about the fall season and a good book!

I believe there is nothing better than cozying up in front of the fireplace with a good book and a warm delicious cup of apple cider. Throw in an apple pastry to create the ultimate self-care and me time, moment! Do you agree?

Share your fall reading list in the comments, below!

Before I dive into my fall reading list and book recommendations, here are some amazing books that I’ve read thus far, this year.  I highly recommend these books and hope that you check them out!

Book Recommendations

I listened to Checking In by Michelle Williams on Audible and it is probably the best book, I’ve read/listened to this year. This book was the perfect reminder to check-in and to keep me on my priority list.

Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead is a phenomenal book. The way the book is written resonated with me. It is very transparent and pull from real examples that anyone can relate to.

I read The Power of Broke: How Empty Pockets, a Tight Budget, and a Hunger for Success Can Become Your Greatest Competitive Advantage a few years ago, but wanted to include this book for anyone who has yet to read it. If you are an entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur, I highly encourage you to read this book. I’m not just saying that because I’m a “day one” Shark Tank fan, it really is a great read that’s both inspiring and motivating. You will be compelled to take action towards your dreams after reading this book.

Fall 2021 Book Line Up

My goal this fall is to finish reading reading one book that I started a few months ago and two additional books. My line up includes:

  • Professional
  • Organizational
  • Spiritual

Professional – The Memo

I started reading The Memo: What Women of Color Need to Know to Secure a Seat at the Table by Minda Harts, but put it down after being pulled into work and business projects. My goal is to be more intentional about reading daily and should wrap this book up in the coming weeks. So far, I am enjoying the wisdom and tips the books gives to women of color in corporate. As an African American female in Tech, who has a lengthy career in Corporate American, and experience in leadership, I can one-hundred percent relate to this book. I will share more of my thoughts in an upcoming blog post. Subscribe so you won’t miss it!

Organizational – The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up

I need some life-changing tips when it comes to my chores and home organization. I’m on the brink of doing a complete overhaul of my home organizational system. I’ll keep you posted if I take those drastic measures.

After I finish reading the Memo, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondō is next on the list. I ordered this book off of Amazon back in July and look forward to reading this book this fall.

Spiritual – When God Says “Wait”

Last but not least, I’ve added When God Says “Wait”: navigating life’s detours and delays without losing your faith, your friends, or your mind by Elizabeth Laing Thompson. I’ve been in a unique season of life and I’m looking forward to drawing some inspiration from this book. I love reading books that are spiritual and bible based. They have a unique way of bring life into perspective for me because they are centered around something I hold deeply and draw strength from.

As you a building out your fall or quarter four (Q4) reading list, I encourage you to include a mix of books that will both inspire you to take action and develop you holistically!

Happy reading!
